Types of Concrete Building Blocks

There are many types of concrete building blocks, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The most common types are Precast concrete blocks and Poured concrete blocks.

Precast Concrete Block

Pre-cast concrete blocks come in a variety of colours and shapes from flat slabs to intricate patterns. These shapes and colours are going to make your project stand out in the midst of all the new buildings.

Where Are Precast Concrete Blocks Used?

They can be used for any construction project, and you can find a wide variety of sizes and shapes to choose from. They’re a great choice for the front of your home or for cramped walkways. They also make great block-out material for other projects.

Another great thing about precast concrete blocks is that they don’t require mixing, they come ready to use and are created in a processing plant without the stress of combining the right cement and sand mix for your project. Likewise, blocks are seamless and do not involve creating a pattern for every section. Concrete block material can also be used for your sidewalks and patios.

Poured Concrete Blocks

Poured Concrete Blocks are the perfect solution for any project that needs a solid foundation. They can be used in place of wood or cinder blocks, and they’re especially useful when you need to protect your home from water damage.

How Are Poured Concrete Blocks Made?

The poured concrete blocks are made from an aggregate material that is bound together with Portland cement. The aggregate is mixed with water and other ingredients, such as sand and gravel, to create a consistency that is just right for pouring into moulds or forms. After the mixture has been poured into the forms or moulds, it sets up quickly and becomes rock hard once it has dried completely.

Where Are Poured Concrete Blocks Used?

Once your poured construction block foundation has dried completely, you can start using it for its intended purpose: providing a sturdy base for whatever structure you’re building on top of it.

Because poured concrete is mixed and then poured into a mould to set. It is often used for floors, walls, and other large structures.
