Manufacturing and Production Methods of Concrete Blocks

2

Concrete blocks are made by mixing cement, water, and sand. The mixture is then poured into a mould, which is then dried and cured.

The construction of concrete blocks has been around for centuries. We will look into two of the most common types of manufacturing and production methods for making concrete blocks.

Blasting Method

Process of Blasting Method

In this method air is blown from the lower end of the mould, by using compressed air, to the upper end of the mould to form hollows or cavities in the body of the block. The process is carried out at a low speed and the molten concrete is not transferred from one mould to another, which results in a high strength block.

Who Uses This Method?

The blasting method is usually adopted for the production of structural blocks. This method is used for production of hollow concrete blocks and soil-cement blocks.

Cold Pressing Method

Process of Blasting Method

Cold pressed concrete blocks are made by pouring concrete into moulds and then letting it set without further heating. This produces stronger, more durable blocks than other methods, which are prone to cracking or buckling if they are not properly dried out after being formed.

The cold pressing method for concrete construction blocks is a process that uses great pressure to compress the concrete, creating uniformity in the block’s shape. It can be used with any kind of concrete, whether it’s used in a foundation or as a decorative accent.

Who Uses This Method?

The cold pressing method is ideal for use on concrete construction blocks because it allows you to achieve the same results without having to resort to using high heat and intense pressure. With this method, you won’t have to worry about cracking or melting your block.

You’ll also be able to create blocks at any size or shape that you need, whether it’s small, medium-sized, large or extra-large. You can even create a square block by using this technique!
